Lincoln Youth Baseball invites you to our Grand Opening Hitting Classic on Saturday February 1st, anytime between 9 AM – 3 PM. Everyone is welcome to stop by. Even if you don’t plan on having your player hit, you can still stop by to check out the hitting facility.

What:
Three round hitting tournament. Players will hit a total of 60 scored pitches in a row with only machine adjustments between rounds. Tournament results will be available for families to check online. Participants will have the opportunity to warm-up in 6 divided batting cage lanes. Only registered participants may be in the hitting lanes.

Cost:
Free! We want families to come and see our new indoor facility! Athletes can enjoy some friendly winter baseball competition.

Who:
For kids ages 8-14, who play or are thinking about playing for Lincoln Youth Baseball. There will be a check-in for legal and insurance purposes. Please bring signed waivers with you. They are downloadable from our website. Hitting Classic Waiver

When & Where:
February 1, 2020 | 9 AM – 3 PM | 3121 SW Moody Avenue, Portland OR 97239

Parking will be provided on the north side of the barge building. Show up any time between 9 AM and 3 PM. Come by and enjoy some friendly competition! Players will be organized by age and given a time to hit. Families should expect to spend between 1/2 to 1 hour in the facility.

Scoring Details:
Points

  • 1 point for line drives that hit top of cage
  • 2 points for line drives that hit behind and above pitching machine
  • 3 points for line drives that hit the top of the cage and then behind and above the pitching machine

Rounds/Brackets
Players will be scored by round and will have to score in the top groups to advance from a scoring perspective to the next round.  However, they will hit all 60 pitches and not know what that means for their bracket.  Again, we just want to make it fun for the kids to see where they finished after they leave the facility.  Brackets will make it confusing enough for them not to know until after they’re done.
